Following a key consultative session with municipal leadership and regional authorities in Nicosia, the Scientific and Technical Chamber of Cyprus (ETEK) has reaffirmed its pledge to deliver technical expertise and strategic guidance to help local governments navigate administrative and operational challenges.
The summit was led by ETEK Chamber President Konstantinos Constantis and featured members of ETEK’s General Council alongside senior municipal officials. Representing the Nicosia District Government Organization (EOA) was its President, Konstantinos Giorkatjis, accompanied by executive officers from both the regional administration and local municipal councils.
Completing the Nationwide Provincial Dialogues
This gathering marked the final stage of an initiative launched by ETEK to conduct regional consultations with Municipalities and District Organizations across every province in Cyprus. According to ETEK, the core objective behind these dialogues is to foster multi-agency collaboration, share insights, and document the specific obstacles faced by local authorities under the ongoing local administration reforms.
Addressing the assembly, ETEK President Constantis provided an overview evaluating the first two years of the restructured Local Government framework. He outlined key priorities necessary to satisfy public expectations, stabilize current operations, and successfully execute long-term reform targets.
