Data submitted to Parliament by Interior Minister Constantinos Ioannou confirms the island&#8217;s enduring appeal to a diverse range of overseas buyers.<\/p>\n<h2>Residential Homes Lead the Way<\/h2>\n<p>Residential properties were the most sought-after asset, accounting for 962 home sales during the period. The market was fairly evenly split between 577 homes sold to non-European buyers and 385 homes to EU citizens.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to homes, foreign buyers also showed a strong appetite for land, acquiring 350 building plots and 357 fields (agricultural land).<\/p>\n<h2>Paphos Remains the Top Choice for Homes<\/h2>\n<p>The Paphos district continues to be the primary hotspot for international homebuyers, with most of the 962 residential sales concentrated in the area. This sustained demand from overseas is a key factor driving property prices in the district.<\/p>\n<h2>Distinct Buyer Preferences Emerge<\/h2>\n<p>The data reveals different strategies between EU and non-EU buyers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>EU Nationals:<\/b> While active in the housing market, EU citizens showed a strong preference for land, particularly in the Limassol district.<\/li>\n<li><b>Non-EU Nationals:<\/b> This group was the dominant force in the residential market (led by Paphos) and showed a clear and growing preference for land in Larnaca, where demand has been climbing steadily.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>Source: Cyprus Mail<\/i><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>International investment in Cyprus&#8217;s real estate market remains exceptionally strong, with foreign nationals acquiring 1,669 properties in the 12-month period from September 2024 to September 2025.
