Over the course of the initiative, a total of 2,841 applications were submitted across the country.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"523\" data-end=\"558\">Focus on Residential Properties<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"560\" data-end=\"766\">The overwhelming majority of submissions\u20142,495 applications or 88%\u2014involved the regularisation of planning violations in residential developments. These included a variety of common infractions such as:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"768\" data-end=\"992\">\n<li data-start=\"768\" data-end=\"822\">\n<p data-start=\"770\" data-end=\"822\">Unauthorised extensions and structural alterations<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"823\" data-end=\"856\">\n<p data-start=\"825\" data-end=\"856\">Covered verandas and pergolas<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"857\" data-end=\"927\">\n<p data-start=\"859\" data-end=\"927\">Exceeding permitted building height, coverage, or number of floors<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"928\" data-end=\"992\">\n<p data-start=\"930\" data-end=\"992\">Reduced boundary setbacks in both main and auxiliary buildings<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"994\" data-end=\"1200\">Despite being commonly referred to as an \u201camnesty,\u201d applicants were required to pay a fee, which went into the Special Affordable Housing Fund operated by the Cyprus Land Development Corporation (KOAG).<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1202\" data-end=\"1230\">District-Level Breakdown<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1232\" data-end=\"1344\">Applications were received from all districts, with Nicosia leading at 1,049 submissions (37%), followed by:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1346\" data-end=\"1494\">\n<li data-start=\"1346\" data-end=\"1382\">\n<p data-start=\"1348\" data-end=\"1382\">Limassol: 770 applications (27%)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1383\" data-end=\"1419\">\n<p data-start=\"1385\" data-end=\"1419\">Paphos: 519 applications (18.3%)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1420\" data-end=\"1457\">\n<p data-start=\"1422\" data-end=\"1457\">Larnaca: 328 applications (11.5%)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1458\" data-end=\"1494\">\n<p data-start=\"1460\" data-end=\"1494\">Famagusta: 175 applications (6.2%)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"1496\" data-end=\"1528\">Variety of Development Types<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1530\" data-end=\"1647\">While residential units made up the bulk of applications, the scheme also covered a broad spectrum of property types:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1649\" data-end=\"2086\">\n<li data-start=\"1649\" data-end=\"1702\">\n<p data-start=\"1651\" data-end=\"1702\"><strong data-start=\"1651\" data-end=\"1675\">Commercial buildings<\/strong>: 155 applications (5.5%)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1703\" data-end=\"1752\">\n<p data-start=\"1705\" data-end=\"1752\"><strong data-start=\"1705\" data-end=\"1728\">Office developments<\/strong>: 57 applications (2%)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1753\" data-end=\"1805\">\n<p data-start=\"1755\" data-end=\"1805\"><strong data-start=\"1755\" data-end=\"1779\">Entertainment venues<\/strong>: 55 applications (1.9%)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1806\" data-end=\"1855\">\n<p data-start=\"1808\" data-end=\"1855\"><strong data-start=\"1808\" data-end=\"1829\">Industrial spaces<\/strong>: 44 applications (1.5%)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1856\" data-end=\"1914\">\n<p data-start=\"1858\" data-end=\"1914\"><strong data-start=\"1858\" data-end=\"1888\">Tourism-related properties<\/strong>: 10 applications (0.4%)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1915\" data-end=\"1979\">\n<p data-start=\"1917\" data-end=\"1979\"><strong data-start=\"1917\" data-end=\"1953\">Agricultural\/livestock buildings<\/strong>: 10 applications (0.4%)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1980\" data-end=\"2033\">\n<p data-start=\"1982\" data-end=\"2033\"><strong data-start=\"1982\" data-end=\"2008\">Educational facilities<\/strong>: 8 applications (0.3%)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2034\" data-end=\"2086\">\n<p data-start=\"2036\" data-end=\"2086\"><strong data-start=\"2036\" data-end=\"2063\">Healthcare developments<\/strong>: 7 applications (0.2%)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"2088\" data-end=\"2104\">What\u2019s Next?<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2106\" data-end=\"2353\">The District Local Government Organisations are now reviewing the applications.
