President Nikos Christodoulides is preparing to visit various districts across Cyprus, starting with rural regions, to engage with local leaders about the recent updates to local government regulations. This initiative was revealed during an event at the Presidential Residence in Troodos, hosted by First Lady Philippa Karsera-Christodoulides.

Christodoulides emphasized that revitalizing rural areas is a key focus of his administration. He highlighted the need to create favorable conditions that would encourage young families to return to the countryside. “It’s crucial that we establish the right environment, particularly for young couples, to help them return and thrive in our rural areas,” the President stated.

Several projects are already in progress, including a housing initiative aimed at enhancing living standards in these regions. Additionally, the government is prioritizing improvements in education, healthcare, and economic opportunities to support rural communities.

As part of this campaign, Christodoulides will personally visit rural districts to meet with community leaders. During these visits, he plans to discuss strategies for attracting more residents to these areas and will unveil further measures to support rural development.
