With the upcoming expansion, larger projects\u2014such as developments of up to 12 terraced houses or apartment buildings with a maximum of four floors and 20 units\u2014will also be processed through Ippodamos. Due to the added complexity, these permits will require 40 days per approval type.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Automatic Approvals and Compliance Measures<\/strong><br \/>\nTo ensure efficiency, if local authorities fail to process permits within the 40-day timeframe, Ippodamos will automatically approve them. However, responsibility for compliance will still lie with designers and local government officials, who must conduct regular inspections.<\/p>\n<p>Applications must be submitted using a checklist system, and the Town Planning Authority, now managed by District Self-Government Organisations, will oversee approvals and rejections.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proven Success with Smaller Projects<\/strong><br \/>\nSince its launch for smaller-scale developments, Ippodamos has proven to be an effective solution for reducing approval delays. Between October 2, 2024, and January 9, 2025, a total of 254 planning applications were submitted:<\/p>\n<li>125 were automatically approved after 20 days,<\/li>\n<li>32 were approved by officials,<\/li>\n<li>22 were rejected, and<\/li>\n<li>75 applications remain pending.<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>A Faster Alternative to the Traditional System<\/strong><br \/>\nApplicants currently using the older approval system have the option to cancel and resubmit their applications through Ippodamos to benefit from the faster processing times.
