Industrial output prices in Cyprus continued to decrease in September, showing a 1% year-over-year decline, according to data released on Thursday by the Cyprus Statistical Service (CyStat).
In September 2024, the Industrial Output Price Index dropped to 123.4 points (with a base of 2021=100), marking a 0.4% decrease from August and a 1% decline compared to September 2023.
Looking at the January-September 2024 period, the index experienced an overall reduction of 2.1% relative to the same timeframe in 2023, CyStat reported.
Breaking down the data by sector, the index remained unchanged in mining and quarrying from the previous month. However, the manufacturing sector saw a slight monthly increase of 0.2%. By contrast, declines occurred in electricity supply (down by 2.4%) and in water supply and materials recovery (down by 0.4%).
On an annual basis, the sectors of mining and quarrying and manufacturing both posted increases, at 1.0% and 0.3%, respectively. Meanwhile, the electricity supply sector recorded an annual decline of 5.4%, and water supply and materials recovery fell by 2.3%.
