During a meeting on September 11, 2024, Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan focused on enhancing cooperation in energy, infrastructure, and regional matters. This discussion was part of an official visit initiated by the UAE President’s invitation to his Cypriot counterpart.
According to a statement from Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis, the talks also covered strategies to bolster bilateral relations and expedite strategic partnerships for concrete outcomes. The aim was to deepen collaborative efforts between the two nations in various key sectors.
Attendees at the meeting included Cyprus’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Constantinos Kombos, Deputy Minister of European Affairs Marilena Raouna, the Government Spokesman, Director of the Diplomatic Office of the President Doros Venezis, and other officials. Representing the UAE were the Minister and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
President Christodoulides is scheduled to return to Cyprus on the morning of September 12, 2024.
